SOFTBALL News:

SOFTBALL meeting for 10U players interested in playing "Travel" Fastpitch Softball (can not be 11 before January 1, 2013).  Meeting is Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the Washington Street School cafeteria in Franklin Square.  The meeting will begin at 7:15PM.  Registration will also be conducted, however, no fees will be collected at this meeting.  For additional information, email us at info@frsqseminoles2.com.

"CONGRATULATIONS to the H Frank Carey Seahawks HS Varsity Baseball Team" as they were crowned the "2011 Long Island Class AA Conference Champs" on Sunday, June 5, 2011.

 

Current Seminoles players on the Carey Seahawks Championship team are:  Jesse Bordeman, Adam Delgado, Ed Eymold and Nick Safuto. 
Former Seminoles on the Carey Seahawks Championship team are: Pat Amato, Kyle Demeo, Anthony Licata, Ronnie Licardi, Danny Maloney,
Steven Marino, Jesse Montalto, Harry Smith, and Joey Torregrossa.

SUMMER:

Blue Chip 18U Great American Classic College Showcase - Results

The SEMINOLES held their own during the recent Blue Chip 18U Great American Classic Showcase Tournament held last weekend (Aug 23-26).  Their record was 1-2-1, yet all games went the full 7 innings, with the SEMINOLES tying their first game in the 7th, winning their 3rd game in the 7th, and just missing tying/winning their final game in the 7th.  All told, the SEMINOLES scored 14 runs while only giving up 16.  This against some of the more Elite teams from LI (LI Ducks ORANGE & Team NY Cardinals), Syracuse NY (M2 Sportszone Athletics) and Maryland (Montgomerey County All-Stars).

2011 NEWS:

The 17U Team will again be playing in Spring and Summer Leagues, this time as 17/18U.  They will again play in College Showcases and Tournaments where possible.  Go to ‘Baseball News’ link at the left for more details

2010 NEWS:

SPRING SEASON – NJBL:

The 16U Team played in NJBL where instead of playing double headers, they played one 9-inning game.  This worked out better as several players are usually on their HS teams and sometimes are not able to pitch during the weekend as they pitched for their schools during the week.  Their record was 3-5.

 

SUMMER SEASON – LIBA

This year the SEMINOLES played in the LIBA (Long Island Baseball Association), where they played teams from Nassau, Suffolk, and the 5 boroughs of NYC.  They played at the huge 40+ field facility at Randall’s Island on their last day and lost by 2 runs, just missing the playoffs.  They wound up 8-10.

 

TOURNAMENTS:

Baseball Heaven Mid-Atlantic Shootout

The Seminoles went 2-2, losing in the quarter finals to the subsequent overall winner.  They played one team from Connecticut (eventual winner), and others from LI.  There were 18 teams in the Tournament, 9 were from out of state.

 

DIAMOND NATION – Blue Chip Prospects

The Seminoles went 0-4, but due to run differentials, placed 42^nd in a 55 team tournament.  They played 2 teams from the DIAMOND NATION (New Jersey) program, one was nationally ranked, and a very highly ranked team from Connecticut (BOMBERS).  All teams here had hand picked high competition level player

2009 News: 

The 2009 15U Team went 22-26-2 for the year playing in the NJBL (Spring), LIBBall (Summer) and in the following Tournaments:  NJBL Memorial Day Tournament (Champs, see below), Blue Chip Prospects Great American Classic (Brooklyn, NY), and Triple Crown's Labor Day Tournament (in CT)

U15 Baseball Team went 2-2 against some excellent competition in the "3rd Annual 'Blue Chip Prospects' Great American Classic" Tournament, over the June 26-28 weekend.  Games were played at the American Legion Complex, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Here are some of the recent success stories for the Seminoles in 2008:

The 2008 14U team, were the UNDEFEATED Champs of the NT baseball 14U Wood Bat Labor Day Tournament, held in Levittown.

For the most part, baseball season has come to an end for our travel teams.

SEASONS OF PLAY AND WORKOUTS:
All of our teams play in Spring and Summer leagues.  The Spring Leagues are usually Sunday Double Headers (DH).  This way they do not interfere with High School or Little League schedules.  During the Summer games could also be played on weeknights.  And we also play in various out-of-state Tournaments (Cooperstown, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, to name a few).
